Education
James Cook University 2015
Doctor of Philosophy. Thesis: Painting in the tropics, investigated painting in the Queensland tropics through the imagined and constructed visions of Matisse, Rousseau and Gauguin, which sits within received notions of exotic otherness. Case study interviews of local tropical painters have expanded their views to draw out the complex world of tropical lived experience in art.
