Painting is a way to reflect on local mythology, history and imagery that tells a story about place. The act of painting is a journey into the world of the picture, where the artist can explore motifs like crown of thorns star fish, the forest and tropical flora, as well as ideas and emotions like fear, joy and celebration.

The kitchen is a place where I have spent a lot of time preparing food for my family. I am always enchanted by the magic shapes and colours of the tropical produce. The garden has also been a place where I have been captivated by colour and form. The act of painting is a meditative process like saying a prayer.
